Splash Into Summer

I have fond memories of growing up offshore and spending time at the local pool. These are some of my fondest memories as a child — playing Marco Polo, hanging out in the adjacent arcade, sipping lemonade, and eating hot dogs.

Our feature “Everyone Into The Pool” takes a plunge into the new Somers Point Paddle Club. I have fond memories of growing up offshore and spending time at the local pool. These are some of my fondest memories as a child — playing Marco Polo, hanging out in the adjacent arcade, sipping lemonade, and eating hot dogs. I can only imagine the memories being created now at the new Somers Point Paddle Club.

In our Home feature, we explore the world of garage doors — another subject that often gets subordinated. I personally think this is one of the most important investments you can make in your home. It’s all about the details and how this one item can make the difference between a home you drive by and notice, and one you don’t.

In our Travel feature, we check in with Donna Peterson to get her insights on travel and some of the curated trips she offers. I can personally attest to the value of having guidance from experienced travelers. It makes a huge difference in your experience and makes the journey more relaxing.

In our Wine feature by Michael Bray, he switches gears to wines that work best for hot days. This is Michael talking directly to me — I’m that guy still holding on to his red wine through June. I’m listening! I just picked up some white wine and rosé. Thank you!

Summer in the Sixties, presented by the Schultz-Hill Foundation, is set for July 31. This is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year, producing funds to support their many art-related programs throughout the year. It’s going to be a sold-out show, so get your tickets now.

This issue’s Health Watch feature goes “Beyond the Hype” on supplements and how they provide more than just a blanket of nutrients. The team at NutriaMed helps us dial in the right supplements for the right reasons.

The 48 Blocks Festival is back for another year of art, culture, and celebration. It takes place on September 19 at Uptown Park & Fisherman’s Park, with free parking.

And of course, we not only have our Social section — we expanded it just for summer.

In our Eats feature this issue, we hit up some new spots on the radar. I know how much you all love discovering new places, so we figured we’d share a few for your next culinary journey.

In our Financial Corner by CRA, we update you on retirement savings boosts and the changes that can make a huge difference when it comes time to cash out, so to speak.

We've added a few more changes to this issue. Let me know your thoughts with a quick note. Hint, QR Codes…

Wishing everyone a safe, memorable, and joy filled summer. Enjoy every moment. Here’s to summer!
