Is it true that the family that drives together, stays together? If so, Bonnie and Jerry Steiner of Margate, New Jersey, may be the poster children for family car loyalty. So, what’s their car of choice? The Range Rover Sport - sleek, but rugged, and a driver’s dream come true. Whether picking up the kids or going on a weekend ride, the Steiners enjoy their Range Rovers. In fact, the family dog’s name? Ranger, of course!
What attracts the Steiners to their SUV? Bonnie sums it up, “We love the comfort and ride of a Range Rover. Although they look like SUVs, they drive like a luxury car.” Based on sales stats, the Steiners are not alone in their thinking. According to Land Rover, the British manufacturer of the Range Rover Sport, over 63,000 units were sold in 2024 alone.

2026 Range Rover Sport
Range Rover Sport 101
First introduced in 2005, the Range Rover Sport is now in its third generation. With a top speed of 180 mph, the mid-size SUV combines its luxury brand with sportiness and impressive driving dynamics. Because of an integrated body frame, drivers get a sleek look in addition to its off-road toughness, thanks to a 6D Dynamics suspension system.
The Range Rover Sport also proudly boasts a 626-horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 engine under a carbon-fiber hood. Several other engine options are available, including a hybrid version with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder gas engine with an electric powertrain.
Standard Models for 2026
Regardless of which one of the six 2026 Range Rover Sport models you select, you can expect an SUV loaded with features that you probably won’t find on other standard models. In the Hybrid category, Land Rover offers the Range Rover Sport Dynamic SE and the Range Rover Sport Autobiography with an impressive 454-543hp performance. Depending on the all-gas Sport of your choice, standard features vary. For example, the Range Rover Sport SV Carbon, Land Rover’s top-of-the-line model, comes jam-packed with standard options including 23” style 1084 forged polished dark grey wheels and a carbon fiber engine cover.
Interior Features
The Range Rover Sport features a high-end cabin touting both luxury and convenience. Although a bit smaller (only two rows of seats) than the Land Rover's flagship Range Rover, the SUV experience is similar. For example, the 20-way memory adjustable front seats are heated and ventilated. For backseat passengers, the Range Rover comes with heated power recline seats. In addition, the cabin comes equipped with an integrated air purification system that reduces odors, bacteria, viruses, and allergens.
The look of the interior takes on a minimalistic, non-spaceship like approach with streamlined and fewer physical buttons. As for connectivity, Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay, Amazon's Alexa, and Android Auto are a given. In addition, a 13.1-inch curved touchscreen gives you easy access to all of your infotainment needs. Depending on the model, audio options come in a 15, 19, or 29 speaker Meridian stereo system.
Two-toned upholstery is available in Ultrafabrics textile or Premium Windsor leather - Light Cloud or Ebony. Dark-tinted chrome accents add to the “premium” look of the SUV. As for cargo capacity, let’s just say there is plenty. In a recent review in Car & Driver, the magazine reported, “We managed to fit 11 carry-on suitcases in the Range Rover Sport's cargo bay during our testing. With the rear seats folded, there was room for 28 carry-ons.”
Safety Features
The 2026 Range Rover Sport comes with a host of standard driver-assistance features. Just to name a few - automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, front and rear parking sensors, and driver attention monitoring.
